I use gostats to monitor traffic on this site. I also look at the server logs on occasion. This is for the purpose of determining why people come to RochesterFlyers.com. What I'm most interested in specifically are: The websites that link to RochesterFlyers and send traffic here, what keywords people use to find RochesterFlyers via search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN and what articles or posts people are reading most.
Links and comments
If you leave a link in a comment, I'll probably follow the link. I'm assuming you want me to find you if you make your contact information easily findable. I may edit links out of comments if I find it offensive, spam or really for any reason I feel like.
Cookies
I don't directly set cookies from RochesterFlyers.com, but I do run a number of scripts from providers such as Google, gostats entrecard and others. All of these set web browser cookies. Google in particular quietly collects a tremendous amount of data on your browsing habits, and RochesterFlyers participates in that data collection. If that bugs you, please drop me a line to let me know how you feel about this and I'll consider removing the service.
Newsletter and mailing list
If you sign up for the newsletter, your contact info is saved for the purpose of sending you information. I have no current plans to sell this information to any outside source. Just because you sign up for a newsletter on RochesterFlyers.com doesn't mean you will be sent anything. In fact I may even remove you from the list with no warning or reason. Mainly because I don't really know what to do with the mailing list.
